FILLMORE, HENRY
(1881-1956)

Among American march composers, the name Henry Fillmore stands alongside that of Karl L. King, second only to John Philip Sousa. The prolific Fillmore composed and arranged under eight different names.

in 1951, and in his will Fillmore specified that all future royalties be turned over to the University of Miami Band. These monies paid for the construction of Fillmore Hall, and those visiting the School of Music may see his mementos in the Fillmore Museum.
