Francesco Ciaravella was born in Alessandria delle Rocca, Italy. He studied band arranging and composition and received a diploma from the St. Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples. He led several Sicilian bands, including those in S. Caterina Villarmosa and Regalbuto.
